Paul Reed Smith guitars have unveiled a figured maple-topped version of their relatively low-cost Mira guitar, reviewed on page 70 of this issue.
class="bodyf">The new Mira Maple Top also adds new finishes and optional gold hardware to the mix, with the new 'wraparound' colours being Tri-Colour Sunburst, Dark Cherry Sunburst, Whale Blue/Black Burst, Violin Amber Burst and Vintage Natural.
class="bodyi">The maple top completes a guitar crafted with a mahogany body and neck and East Indian rosewood fingerboard (adorned with either moon or optional birds inlays). A choice of regular or wide-thin carve is available on the 24-fret, 10-inch radius, 25-inch-scale neck, and the package is completed with locking tuning pegs and twin Mira humbuckers coupled with one volume and two tone pots, a three-way selector and mini-toggle coil-tap switch.
