Paul Reed Smith guitars have unveiled a figured maple-topped version of their relatively low-cost Mira guitar, reviewed on page 70 of this issue.
The new Mira Maple Top also adds new finishes and optional gold hardware to the mix, with the new 'wraparound' colours being Tri-Colour Sunburst, Dark Cherry Sunburst, Whale Blue/Black Burst, Violin Amber Burst and Vintage Natural.
The maple top completes a guitar crafted with a mahogany body and neck and East Indian rosewood fingerboard (adorned with either moon or optional birds inlays). A choice of regular or wide-thin carve is available on the 24-fret, 10-inch radius, 25-inch-scale neck, and the package is completed with locking tuning pegs and twin Mira humbuckers coupled with one volume and two tone pots, a three-way selector and mini-toggle coil-tap switch.
Prices for the new PRS Mira Maple Top start at £1599.
