Smart Cinema

Dubbing Mixer Andrew Wilson is part of an innovative research project at Bristol University that used an advanced sound capture setup (including a PCMA-3D mic rig) to record sound during two live music performances for playback in the university's purpose-built Smart Cinema. Andrew will discuss the concept and workflow of the project and delve into the Pro Tools session to show how he created a Dolby Atmos mix to recreate, as faithfully as possible, the live-audience experience.

Theatre Sound Design

Award winning Sound Designer Emma Laxton will describe the process for planning and executing the sound design for a modern theatrical production and how to translate that to Digital Theatre.

The Good, the Bad and the Dante

Dante in a practical setting  Technical Guru Mike Ransome of Everything Audio has built numerous Dante rigs for many TV shows. In this session he will show us some good practices, some less so, and a few common 'gotchas' that might turn things a bit ugly.

In-Car Microphone Rigs
