Karno have announced that Universal Audio have joined as a SEPIA platform partner (we previewed the system in SOS October 2023), bringing the iconic UA1176 compressor into its digitally controlled analogue system.
The new UA1176 SEPIA module faithfully preserves the original analogue circuitry, including its JFET design and transformers, whilst integrating seamlessly into SEPIA’s hybrid workflow. Users benefit from modular routing, instant recall and software-based control via DAW, tablet, console or phone. Added features such as a full module bypass and integrated 1176SA stereo-link expand its flexibility while staying true to the sound that has defined countless records for over five decades.
Built for professionals, the SEPIA L6 host supports interchangeable modules from leading manufacturers, combining the warmth of analog hardware with the precision of modern digital control.
Bill Putnam Jr., CEO of Universal Audio: Seeing the 1176 integrated into SEPIA opens up new possibilities, from flexible studio setups to on-stage applications.
The UA1176 SEPIA module will be available soon for SEPIA L6 hosts.
