L-Acoustics have announced the launch of a new ground-breaking audio system which they say will redefine how we experience spaces through sound. HYRISS (Hyperreal Immersive Sound Space) uses a combination of in-wall speakers, high-power amplification and spatial audio processing to create spaces that engage all of the senses and provide the most immersive experience possible.
L-Acoustics say that the idea behind HYRISS is to elevate the role of audio to match the importance visual aesthetics when designing and creating immersive, emotionally resonant environments. It brings together a range of their products and technologies, offering an adaptable, high-quality solution that’s suitable for a wide range of applications, from luxurious residences and yachts to high-end hospitality and corporate environments.
It supports a wide range of audio formats from mono through to multi-channel immersive formats such as Dolby Atmos and beyond, with its high-resolution, three-dimensional network of loudspeakers promising exceptional listening conditions. The system has been designed with versatility in mind, and can be tasked with everything from enhancing voice for presentations to immersing listeners in music, or dynamically adapting a space's acoustics for different activities.
Key Technologies
The system relies on three core L-Acoustics technologies:
- L-ISA: Precisely positions instruments in space, mimicking live concert settings.
- Ambiance: Uses state-of-the-art sensing microphones and the L-ISA Processor II to transform room acoustics.
- Anima: Utilises advanced algorithms and machine learning to localise, spatialise, separate and immerse audio content beyond its original design, transforming ordinary sound and music into extraordinary experiences.
A HYRISS-equipped space is capable of effortlessly transitioning between different acoustic environments — from a serene atmosphere intended for relaxation or meditation to a dynamic entertainment space, for example — ensuring that the auditory environment always matches the intended use of the space and its desired emotional impact. Each installation is created and installed by certified experts, with L-Acoustics working alongside qualified system integrators and end users to define desired experiences, operational conditions and budget.
"For too long, the audio experience has been secondary to visual aesthetics in the design of spaces. With HYRISS, we're changing that narrative. We're providing designers, architects and engineers with the tools to create spaces that are as sonically captivating as they are visually stunning, evoking profound emotions and creating exceptional experiences through the art of sound." - Scott Sugden, Director of Product Management, Solutions, L-Acoustics
The system is available now for custom installations. You can find out more about HYRISS and request a visit to L-Acoustics’ London showroom via the link below.
