Line 6, who more or less put modelling on the map, have several new products that have just arrived in the UK, headed by the impressive M13 Stompbox Modeler, billed as "the essential all-in-one pedalboard experience".
class="bodyf">The 12-footswitch-equipped M13 features a comprehensive collection of modelled sounds plus a full-featured looper and all-metal construction. Without complicated menus or presets, Line 6 say, their M13 Stompbox Modeler "channels the soul and ease of a stompbox".
class="bodyi">The M13 offers over 75 effects including distortions, reverbs and delays (incorporating sounds from their DL4 delay pedal), and allows players to use up to four different sounds (or four of the same) simultaneously. Each stompbox model features dedicated knobs for instant tweaking.
class="bodyi">The 28-second looper is has its own dedicated footswitches for Play/Stop, Half Speed, Reverse, Undo and more. All of the M13 Stompbox Modeler's metal footswitches can withstand constant stomping and rock & roll-style abuse, Line 6 say.
class="bodyi">Usefully, the M13 allows users to create pedalboard setups, or 'scenes', for instant recall of an entire gig or song's stompbox sounds. Users can save up to 12 scenes and back them up to a computer using the MIDI in/out.

class="bodyi">The second newcomer from Line 6 is the JM4 Looper, which features over 100 'Endless Jam' tracks and drum grooves in more than 10 styles, "performed by top LA and Nashville session players". According to Line 6, "These tracks aren't rigid and robotic; these are actual recordings laid down by A-list drummers, bass players and guitarists. The real-world chemistry from these dynamic rhythm sections is here for you to explore your creativity in writing songs, trying out solo ideas or just honing your chops between gigs."
class="bodyi">The JM4 offers up to 24 minutes of recording time and storage for up to 100 recorded jams. A 2GB SD card provides additional jam storage and WAV file transfer to your computer or recording software. Additionally, users can employ an SD card to import their own songs into the JM4 Looper to transpose, time-stretch or loop over any music they want.
