Soundcraft unveil Si3 desk

A new digital desk with an analogue feel

Veteran UK mixer manufacturers Soundcraft have a new digital console — the Si3, which they are pitching firmly at users who have been finding the move to digital desks uncomfortable (and that's a fair number of sound engineers). The Si3 offers 64 XLRs for the mic/line inputs, four stereo line-level inputs, 24 bus output XLRs, eight matrix output XLR's, left/right/centre mix output XLRs, left/right/centre monitor output XLRs and comprehensive internal and external talkback and oscillator connections. There are also eight analogue insert connections, which allow outboard processing to be inserted into any input channel or output bus.

Soundcraft say that the new mixer not only has the 'feel' of an analogue console but that it includes a lot of analogue circuitry, giving it a sound users will appreciate as well as a conventional 'driving experience'.
