Lynx Studio Technology have announced that the Hilo 2, which was originally unveiled earlier this year at the NAMM Show 2024, is now shipping worldwide. The highly anticipated update to their renowned 2-in/6-out A-D/D-A converter and audio interface improves on the original design not only in terms of its technical performance, but also its functionality.
The company say that Hilo 2 now offers an even more transparent sound thanks to lower distortion and noise figures for its line-level inputs and outputs, as well as offering selectable linear and minimum-phase filters. Its sample clock has been upgraded, too, with Lynx’s new SynchroLock 2 design resulting in faster locking and better tracking of external clocks along with 7ppm accuracy. The onboard display now utilises an in-plane switching LCS with a capacitive touch panel that benefits from increased brightness, uniform off-axis viewing and improved touch responsiveness. It also provides an upgrade path for sample rates above 192kHz and DSD support.
More information about the latest version of the unit can be found on the Lynx website.
