MIDI Innovation Awards Show 2024 live stream event

As this year’s MIDI Innovation Awards draw to a close, The MIDI Association will be hosting a streamed event on their YouTube channel where an esteemed panel of judges will review and discuss the three finalists in each of the awards’ five categories before selecting a winner. More information on this year’s finalists can be found here.

The event will be hosted by Martin Keary (aka Tantacrul). As the VP of Product at Muse, Martin plays a crucial role in overseeing and mentoring the teams responsible for a diverse range of products, including Ultimate Guitar, MuseScore Studio, MuseScore.com, Audacity, Audio.com and the Muse Hub. He also runs a YouTube channel called Tantacrul, where he shares his thoughts on music, technology, philosophy and design.

The Judges

  • Michelle Darling: Assistant Chair of the Electronic Production and Design Department at Berklee College of Music.
  • Mark Isham: Film Composer and recording artist with over 4 billion dollars in gross of films scored.
  • Bian Liunian: Chinese Erhu musician, composer and musical director of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Closing Ceremony and the CCTV New Year’s Gala, one of the most watched television programmes in the world.
  • Moldover: Musician and instrument designer who is widely recognised as the godfather of controllerism.
  • Jeff Rona: American composer for film and games and the founder and first president of The MIDI Association.
  • Michael Strickland: Specialised Faculty in Music Technology at Florida State University and an active member of both the MIDI In Music Education and the Music Accessibility Standard Special Interest Groups of The MIDI Association.
