MPG 'Loudness Wars' seminar

Music Producers Guild take over the SOS Producer Panel
As you may have seen in our coverage of the LIMS show, the UK's Music Producers Guild (MPG) are holding an event in the SOS seminar room at LIMS this Saturday, the 14th June.

They'll be discussing the subject of Loudness, with top-name producers debating and presenting information about the topic. On the panel will be top mastering engineers, Ray Staff (Alchemy), Tony Cousins (Metropolis) and Mike Cave (Loft), and legendary producers Haydn Bendall and Tony Platt.

Tony Platt — Bob Marley, Iron Maiden, AC/DC
Ray Staff — David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Corinne Bailey Rae
Tony Cousins — Robbie Williams, Peter Gabriel, Elton John
Mike Cave — Elvis Costello, Thea Gilmore, The Charlatans, The Coral
Haydn Bendall — Kate Bush, Pet Shop Boys, Leona Lewis

The event will start at 12 noon, but make sure you arrive early to ensure you get a seat. The seminar is free (once you're in the show), and will be followed by a Q&A session, where you can pose your questions to the panel.

What's more, you'll find other MPG members sitting on the Producer Panels on Friday 13th June and Sunday 15th, as well as further information on the Guild at the show.

HOW TO FIND THE SOS SEMINAR ROOM:

The SOS seminar room is in South Gallery Rooms 25&26, which is upstairs from the main show floor. Walk to the back of the hall and up the stairs to find us. See you there!

Note that the line-up has changed since previous listings were published, and Jerry Boys is now appearing on Friday, not Saturday. Haydn Bendall will fill Jerry's space on the Saturday.
