Neural DSP introduce Quad Cortex mini

Full Cortex platform in a compact format

Neural DSP Quad Cortex mini

Neural DSP have announced the release of the Quad Cortex mini, a new ultra-compact guitar and bass processor that delivers the same processing architecture, audio quality and Neural Capture technology as the original Quad Cortex, now in a significantly smaller and more portable enclosure.

Quad Cortex mini retains the full Quad Cortex feature set while reducing the hardware footprint by more than 50%. Measuring just 22.8 x 11.8 x 6.5 cm and weighing 1.5 kg, the Quad Cortex mini is intended for use with pedalboards, desktop studios, compact racks and fly-rigs. Interaction is built around the same 7-inch touchscreen found on the flagship unit, paired with four stainless-steel rotary footswitches that provide tactile control for both hands-on editing and live performance.

The device supports Neural Capture V1 and V2 for creating digital replicas of amplifiers, cabinets, drive pedals, fuzzes and compressors. It ships with an extensive onboard content library, including more than 90 amps, over 100 effects, 1,000 impulse responses and 2,000 Captures, alongside free access to thousands of additional community Captures via Cortex Cloud. Workflow features such as Preset, Scene, Stomp, and Hybrid modes, Gig View, the Focus and Pages systems and plugin compatibility with supported Neural DSP plugins are all retained.

Quad Cortex mini also functions as a 16-channel USB-C audio interface (8 inputs / 8 outputs) and introduces a locking power connector for secure use on stage. Connectivity includes an instrument/microphone combo input with phantom power, balanced XLR outputs, stereo send/return over TRS, MIDI over TRS and USB-C, and a dedicated headphone output for silent practice. Presets and full system backups can be freely shared between Quad Cortex mini and the original Quad Cortex, allowing consistent rigs across multiple devices.

The launch coincides with CorOS 4.0.0, a major software update for the Cortex ecosystem that introduces new effects and utilities, including Nordic Concert Hall, Blossom, Studio Plate 70, and the Phase Doctor signal-alignment tool. CorOS 4.0.0 adds full support for Quad Cortex mini and is available across compatible devices at launch.

Pricing & Availability

Quad Cortex mini is available now, priced at €1,299.

See it on display at the NAMM Show 2026 at Neural DSP Booth #5243.
