Polar Lo-Fi announce SPONGE and UN-TUNE compact pedals

Polar Lo-Fi Sponge and Un-TunePolar Lo-Fi Sponge and Un-TuneUK company Polar Lo-Fi have announced two effects pedals to be released in the third quarter of 2014. Polar Lo-Fi’s forward-thinking approach and cutting edge un-modelling DSP technology have resulted in two unique and interesting solutions to live performance – SPONGE and UN-TUNE.

The SPONGE is designed to control multiple effects simultaneously by negating effects placed before it in the signal chain. It essentially makes wet signals dry (hence the product name), removing 99% of reverbs, delay, modulation and distortion effects present in the audio signal. One press of the footswitch cleans up the audio ready for further processing further down the chain, allowing banks of multiple effects to be switched in or out instantly. A stereo rack version and VST/AAX plug-in are expected in early 2015 catering for mastering engineers and producers needing to strip back unwanted effects in recorded tracks.

The UN-TUNE pedal is designed for vocalists who are looking to emulate specific singers. Many of the great singers are instantly recognisable and Polar Lo-Fi have analysed countless recordings to determine what makes them so distinctive. During an extensive R&D period, it became apparent that pitch was by far the most important aspect in singer recognition. This research led to the development of UN-TUNE, a deceptively simple pedal with hundreds of presets available for instant recall that add the intonation nuances of specific performers to your voice.

The Polar Lo-Fi SPONGE and UN-TUNE will be distributed exclusively through Absolute Music in the UK. For more information visit the link below.
