The latest arrival to Spitfire Audio’s line-up brings together a selection of highlights from their hugely popular Albion series. The Albions: Orchestral Selects includes content from six of the company’s renowned libraries, providing composers with a comprehensive selection of string, brass, woodwind and percussion samples that promise to offer a wide range of expressive possibilities.
First up is a selection of strings that combine Albion ONE’s powerful symphonic sound with the soaring high and low sections featured in Iceni and Tundra, while smaller sections derived from NEO and Loegria deliver the more intimate sound of a smaller ensemble. The brass section then delivers dynamic, powerful sections lifted from ONE, Tundra and Iceni, while a more nuanced sound is offered by a set of long and short articulations from NEO.
It’s a similar story with the woodwinds, which bring together samples from ONE, Tundra and NEO to deliver a variety of colours and textures. On the percussion front you’ll find the Darwin Percussion featured in Tundra and Iceni, along with Albion ONE's XXL Percussion and Legacy Cymbals and Gongs, alongside the more subtle offering of Loegria's Fine Drums. The collection also includes a number of legato instrument patches from across the entire Albion range.

Compatibility
The Albions: Orchestral Selects runs in Native Instruments’ Kontakt or free Kontakt Player versions 7.5.2 and above, which are supported on PCs running Windows 10 and higher, and Macs running macOS 11 or later. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

The Albions: Orchestral Selects is available now, and is being offered at an introductory price of $159£119 / €143 until 13 March 2025, when it will increase to its full cost of $199£149 / €179. GBP prices include VAT.
