Stedman have announced the launch of the Proscreen XL V2, an updated version of their renowned popshield. The design has long been a favourite thanks to its robust build, impressive performance and lifetime warranty, and it’s now been treated to some upgrades that enhance it even further.
The company say that while the original design is still praised by users, they felt a design refresh was necessary to ensure the Proscreen XL works as well as possible with modern stands. The product was initially introduced in 2025 and designed to pair with ‘standard’ microphone stands with circular booms, and since then, a whole host of new stands and mounting hardware have been released that move away from the norm.
Stedman have responded by introducing a new clamp design that they say will securely attach to any boom up to 1.5-inch in diameter, regardless of its shape. They’ve also fitted a longer (16.5-inch) and stronger gooseneck attachment that makes the unit easier to position around larger microphones and shockmounts. It still employs the same patented screen, meaning the performance remains the same, and importantly, it’s still backed by a lifetime warranty.
