Trilix Studio, a recording studio and video production facility located in Des Moines, Iowa, have announced that they will be hosting a two-day workshop featuring sessions dedicated to Dolby Atmos, home studio acoustics, music marketing and producing guitar tracks.
Taking place on 9 and 10 August 2024, the in-person event will provide attendees with the opportunity to take part in sessions delivered by a team of audio industry professionals including:
- Carl Verheyen - guitarist of Supertramp and “One of the Top 10 Guitar Players in the World” (Guitar Magazine)
- Russ Berger - Studio Designer, FASA, RBDG
- Mark Hornsby - Studio Designer, Producer and Engineer, RBDG
- Paul Vnuk Jr. - Editor, Recording Magazine
- Mark Salamone - Studio Integration Manager, Sweetwater Integration
- Phillip Young - Head Engineer, Trilix Studio
Schedule
The first day will kick off with an opening session that will provide an overview of the workshop schedule, with all of the guest speakers introducing themselves and taking part in an open Q&A session with all attendees. Demystifying Dolby Atmos follows, providing an overview of the ever-popular immersive format and covering key topics such as technical requisites and optimal configurations, as well as a selection of practical demonstrations that showcase what Atmos can bring to music, movies and gaming.
On the second day, Producing Pro Guitar Tracks will see Supertramp’s Carl Verheyen team up with engineers Mark Hornsby and Phillip Young to talk through the process of selecting the right equipment and software as well as detailing a number of innovative recording and mixing techniques. Home Studio Acoustics will then offer advice on how to tackle common acoustic issues in home and project studios in order to obtain professional-quality recordings, while Music Marketing 101 offers an insight into the all-important task of building a brand and utilising the likes of social media, digital platforms and traditional marketing tools. Finally, there will be a chance to attend a Guitar Master Class session led by Carl Verheyen.
