The latest version of Arturia’s creative plug-in suite has arrived, bundling together 34 of the company’s popular compressors, reverbs, delays, filters, distortions and more. As well as gaining a pair of plug-ins that have been released since the launch of the previous version, FX Collection 5 also includes two completely new offerings in the form of Bus PEAK and Bus EXCITER-104.
Alongside the existing content, the latest iteration of the suite now includes Efx MOTIONS (print / web / app / replica / PDF editions), a multi-effects plug-in loaded with five modules that has been designed to create continually evolving and rhythmic effects. Efx REFRACT has also joined the bundle, which combines a range of unison effects with some LFO-based modulation capabilities.
Bus Peak & Bus Exciter-104
Bus PEAK combines a limiter and clipper with high- and low-frequency tone controls.Along with the addition of more recent releases, there are two entirely new processors that have been released alongside FX Collection 5. The first, Bus PEAK, combines a limiter and clipper with a high- and low-frequency EQ section, offering both tonal balance control and transparent dynamics control that aims to increase the volume of a mix without introducing distortion. A streamlined interface provides users with just the essential controls, and also offers loudness and true peak metering.
Bus EXCITER-104 then offers Arturia’s take on Aphex’s classic Aural Exciter. A Big Bass section equipped with Drive, Frequency and Mix controls makes it possible to add some additional weight to the low end, while high-frequency content can be enhanced using an Exciter section that houses Harmonics, Frequency and Mix controls. There’s also a global wet/dry balance control, and a large spectral display that provides a visual indication of how the processing is affecting the input signal.
Compatibility
FX Collection 5 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 11 and higher. VST, AAX and AU plug-in versions are provided.
Pricing & Availability
FX Collection 5 is available now, and is currently (11 June 2024) being offered at an introductory price of €399, reduced from its usual cost of €499. Upgrade offers are available to existing FX Collection owners.
