Described as the ultimate compact controller and sequencer for DAWless rigs and hybrid setups, Arturia’s new KeyStep Mk2 controller retains the core design of its predecessor, but introduces some new generative tools, an upgraded display, a redesigned sequencer and arpeggiator section and more.
Aimed at musicians who need a compact key controller for their modular synth rigs and bedroom producers looking for a powerful controller that won’t take up too much desk space, the latest version of the KeyStep comes packed with some significant updates on the original design. Its 32-note keybed features velocity-sensing and aftertouch, while a new OLED display allows all editing to be carried out directly on the controller itself. The compact unit boasts full compatibility with a wide range of modular, DAW and hardware synth setups thanks to MIDI I/O (on five-pin DIN sockets); Sync I/O; Pitch, Gate, Mod 1 and Mod 2 CV outputs; and USB-C connectivity.
