The latest processor to join Arturia’s collection of processing plug-ins aims to become the go‑to choice for transient shaping, offering intuitive control over attack and sustain while providing users with detailed, real-time visual feedback.
As its name suggests, Bus Transient has been designed with group and full-mix processing in mind, but is said to be equally helpful in shaping recordings of percussive and plucked instruments. There are two main controls that provide the plug-in’s core functionality: Transient and Body. Both are equipped with Gain and Time parameters, allowing users to increase or decrease the level of a sound’s attack and sustain, as well as manipulating the length and timing of each element.
A Sensitivity control allows users to determine how the plug-in’s processing targets incoming signals, allowing Bus Transient to focus only on strong hits, for example, or carry out more subtle work on quieter transients. Both the Transient and Body signals benefit from their own dedicated Tone control, allowing users to adjust the tonal balance of each element individually. There are also full-range and multiband processing options, along with a Clipper module that offers both hard- and soft-clipping options before the plug-in’s output.
