Speaker management system from Noise Control

FF204D and FF206D

If you’re running a sophisticated rig and are looking around for a speaker management/signal processor system, you might well be the sort of customer being sought by the wonderfully named Noise Control, who have just launched their Noise Control Audio Speaker Management Systems, the FF204D and FF206D.

The FF206D provides three-way stereo or six-way mono processing, while the FF204D gives two-way stereo or four-way mono. Both units can be managed at the fascia or integrated seamlessly with Linea Research’s Podware software interface (supplied with the controllers). Interestingly, Noise Control tell us that Podware adds networkability to the system, which can operate at distances of up to a kilometre between devices!

UK designed and built, the units provide generous amounts of signal processing capability, six bands of parametric EQ per channel, a choice of 13 crossover/filter shapes, delay and polarity settings. Noise and distortion levels are impressive (typically 0.008% THD: 20Hz-20kHz) and the compressors are highly transparent, the makers say.

Podware, designed in tandem with the hardware, controls the units individually or in a network, and can be downloaded for examination at www.noisecontrolaudio.com. Networking uses the BvNET standard, specifically designed for professional sound systems.

Though the units are supplied with presets for Noise Control Audio configurations, they can equally be used with any amplifier/speaker arrangement to add ease of use, protection and functionality.
