Modelled on a rare, customised Wurlitzer 120 electric piano, the latest addition to UJAM's Virtual Pianist series delivers a raw, character-driven sound that aims to bring some edge, movement and attitude to arrangements and productions. Virtual Pianist Grit is the second electric piano to join the line-up, and is said to offer a distinctly more rugged and expressive voice that its predecessor, Vibe.
Designed to behave as much like a rhythm instrument as a traditional keyboard, the new arrival approaches the electric piano from a performance-focused perspective. As with other instalments in the series, Grit features a built-in player that’s been designed to act as a personal session pianist, producing realistic accompaniments using phrase-based performances, and allowing users to adjust harmony, style and dynamics to suit their intended purpose.
UJAM say that it’s well-suited to a wide range of music, ranging from 1960s soul and 1970s funk to indie, electronic, ambient and cinematic productions. Along with its self-playing abilities, the plug-in also includes an Instrument mode that allows users to play the sampled electric piano manually like any other sampled instrument.

Virtual Pianist Grit is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or higher, and Macs running macOS 11 and above. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
