Blaknblu have announced the release of Doug, a combined LFO and envelope generator for Eurorack systems. Designed in Cambridge, the module provides a flexible modulation source that can switch between six-phase envelope generation and multi-waveform LFO operation.
As an envelope generator, Doug goes beyond the standard ADSR by adding two extra stages: Wait, which delays the attack, and Hold, which maintains the level before decay. This makes it a six-phase design with both Gate and Trigger inputs, plus two identical outputs that can be set to unipolar (0–10V) or bipolar (±5V).
In LFO mode, Doug produces five waveforms: square, triangle (with optional sine), rising saw, falling saw and sample and hold, as well as white noise. These signals can be mixed together to create complex modulations. The LFO can be reset via the Trigger input and also supports one-shot operation, allowing a single cycle to be generated from a trigger.
