CEDAR introduce DNS 8S noise suppressor

Designed for live sound applications

CEDAR Audio DNS 8S

New from CEDAR Audio, the DNS 8S is a noise suppressor designed specifically for live sound and broadcast applications where audio over IP is not required. The unit builds on the company’s established DNS series and focuses on delivering near-zero latency processing via AES/EBU digital audio connections, making it suitable for concerts, festivals, conferences and other live events.

The DNS 8S incorporates CEDAR’s noise suppression algorithm, already widely used for front-of-house sound and monitoring in major tours and for live broadcasts of music, sports and television. It retains the setup, processing, and remote-control options found in earlier DNS hardware, and comes supplied with an AES/EBU breakout cable offering four XLR male plugs and four XLR female sockets for straightforward connection to professional digital audio devices.

Alongside its processing capabilities, the DNS 8S includes fail-safe AES3 audio bypass, implemented via hardware relays that connect inputs directly to outputs in the event of a power failure or system fault. Power options include universal mains input and a 4-pin 12VDC connector, making the unit adaptable for a wide range of live environments including theatres, houses of worship and conference venues.
