Elektron have unveiled a new instrument which has been designed as both a polyphonic sampler and a flexible sound-processing hub. Tonverk combines multi-track sampling, modulation and comprehensive effects routing options in a single-unit format.
Tonverk offers eight stereo audio tracks, four bus tracks, three send tracks, as well as a dedicated mix track. Each audio track can host one of four machines: Single Player for polyphonic sample playback, Multi Player for multi-sampled instruments, Subtracks for creating up to eight monophonic sub-tracks within a single channel, and MIDI for sequencing external gear.
The effects section introduces a wide range of new processors, including Infinite Flanger, Warble, Chrono Pitch, Rumsklang Reverb and Supervoid Reverb, alongside filters, delays, compressors, and distortion tools. Each track also includes two assignable LFOs, an assignable modulation envelope and additional modulation options on buses, sends and the mix channel.
Other key features include polyphonic sequencing with up to 256 steps per pattern, individual track lengths and time multipliers, parameter locks, trig conditions, an arpeggiator per track, and performance modes such as chord and keyboard scale modes. Sampling can be done directly via the Recorder function or through Auto Sampler, which automatically multi-samples external instruments via MIDI.
On the hardware side, Tonverk features a 128 × 64 OLED display, steel casing, SD card slot, and multiple connection options including balanced audio I/O, MIDI In/Out/Thru with DIN Sync, dual USB-C ports, and class-compliant USB audio. The unit ships with a 64 GB SD card, PSU, USB-C cable and exclusive artwork. Dimensions are 286 × 176 × 63 mm, with a weight of 1.85 kg.
