IK Multimedia have unveiled the iLoud Precision MkII, the next generation of their studio monitor range, featuring the company’s new ARC X acoustic correction system. Designed for music production, mixing and content creation, the monitors aim to provide enhanced transparency and accuracy.
The Precision MkII builds on the original iLoud Precision monitors, which we reviewed in SOS Jan 2023, with several key upgrades. A new ultra-lightweight, graphene-reinforced tweeter reduces distortion whilst improving clarity, and an updated enclosure provides better transient response and a more precise soundstage. Built-in fixing mounts and optional metal brackets make it easier to position monitors accurately, whether for desktop use or immersive setups such as Dolby Atmos and multi-channel configurations.
The monitors offer a linear phase design, with a frequency response of ±1 dB from 45 Hz to 30 kHz and a low-end extension down to 37 Hz at -4 dB, which IK say delivers full-spectrum clarity and reference-grade accuracy.
ARC X
A key feature of the MkII series is its integration with the new ARC X system, which replaces IK Multimedia’s previous ARC 4 and X-MONITOR software. ARC X automatically analyses a room in three dimensions and generates correction profiles that can be stored directly on the monitors. It also offers advanced system tuning and speaker emulation, allowing users to emulate over 20 different monitor and consumer playback systems. Registered owners of previous iLoud Precision models and compatible ARC devices can access ARC X as a free upgrade.
Accessories include isolation pods, mounting brackets, and a wired remote control. All Precision MkII monitors come with ARC X software, with the plug-in and measurement microphone bundle available at an introductory price of €99.99$99.99.
