Dekoni Audio recreate Audeze Vegan earpads

Company resurrect popular discontinued accessory

Audeze’s LCD range of high-end headphones are a popular choice with audio professionals and keen listeners alike, and while there are still plenty of current models to choose from, one of the popular accessories for the line-up was discontinued almost a decade ago. The add-on in question is the Vegan earpad, which has now been resurrected by Dekoni Audio, a company who specialise in high-quality earpad upgrades.

The Elite Microsuede Vegan Earpads are covered in a soft, highly durable, leather-free microsuede material that has been selected to replicate Audeze’s original design as closely as possible — albeit in a black finish rather than the original brown. The all-important cushioning in then provided by a slow-rebounding memory foam, and sports a sloped design that helps to ensure headphones remain comfortable over long listening sessions. As well the comfort and appearance, the pads are also said to offer some sonic benefits, too, with Dekoni saying that they help to deliver a more open sound with more controlled bass and a smoother top end.
