Reason Studios have announced that an open beta version of Reason 13 is now available, and are inviting users to sign up to take part. Planned for full release in June 2024, the latest iteration of the popular music-creation software introduces new instruments and effects, an improving browsing system, sequencer upgrades and more.
What’s New?
One of the headline features of Reason 13 is the addition of Polytone, a new dual-layer synth that’s inspired by the sounds of vintage hardware but comes kitted out with a wealth of modern programming capabilities. There’s also a new effect in the form of Ripley Space Delay, which combines filtering and distortion as well as coming equipped with extensive modulation capabilities. The collection built-in utility devices has been expanded too, with Sidechain, Gain and Stereo Tool processors making quick work of setting up ducking, panning, routing and stereo-widening effects.
Thee latest addition to the Reason instrument collection is Polytone, a dual-layer synth inspired by vintage analogue instruments.
The software’s sequencer has gained a new Edit Area that allows users to focus on specific parts of their track without losing sight of their overall arrangement, and is also kitted out with a range of improvements that include updated zoom tools and layout changes.
An updated factory library then offers a whole host of new patches, samples, REX loops, templates and demo songs, all of which can be accessed using a new and improved Browser that offers an in-depth searching and tagging system.
