Shortly after announcing their new line of high-end studio amplifiers, Dynaudio have revealed yet more upcoming hardware in the form of the Control series. Developed in collaboration with DAD (Digital Audio Denmark), the new series comprises two audio processing units that offer a mixture of monitoring control functions, audio routing, EQ, conversion and more, along with a tactile remote control panel.
The ‘brains’ of the new system are contained within the Control 01 and Control 02 units. Both occupy a 1U chassis, and combine a comprehensive monitor controller with a digital patchbay, format converter, headphone amps, room EQ optimiser and audio router. Equipped with Dante, Thunderbolt, dual MADI ports and AES3 connectivity, the systems can be integrated in a vast range of setups, and are capable of handling up to 984 channels of audio with near-zero latency — the Dante and Thunderbolt interfaces alone offer 256 channels each.
The Control 02 extends the connectivity further with a built-in D-A converter that delivers eight analogue line-level outputs. Both systems are controlled by DAD’s powerful DADman software, and modular slots make it possible to customise the systems with additional analogue outputs, extra digital I/O, mic preamps and so on.
Hands-on remote control of the system is provided by the Control Link, a hardware controller unit fitted with 40 programmable buttons and a precision volume dial. The versatile device offers instant control over the likes of preset selection, speaker switching, downmix options and input routing, providing in-depth control over even the most complex systems.
