Hollywood Fantasy Brass, the latest addition to EastWest’s Hollywood Fantasy series, is a virtual instrument that brings the sound of historical brass instruments to your fingertips. Rather than sampling trumpets and French horns as found in a modern orchestra, Hollywood Fantasy Brass includes the epic sounds of flugelhorns, Wagner tubas and alpenhorns.
Aimed at creating fantasy film, television and game soundtracks, Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra has been produced by Doug Rogers and Nick Phoenix. Many of the instruments in the sample library have been recorded in small ensembles with full stereo imaging mic placement, surround sound options and all the features of EastWest’s Opus software.
Every instrument has been programmed with three moods: Classic, Soft and Epic, providing a diverse range of sounds to suit a variety of production sounds. Individual control over the level and panning of four separate microphone positions is available, with the library providing a choice of Close, Mid, Main and Surround options. The sample library includes sampled instruments of Wagner tubas, flugelhorns, alpenhorns, brass trombones, cimbassos and a modern tuba. EastWest say that this brass section packs a punch in the low end which makes it ideal for soundtracks in the fantasy genre.
Hollywood Fantasy Brass joins Hollywood Fantasy Strings in the Hollywood Fantasy series, with wind, percussion and voice sample pack releases to follow in June, July and August this year. The series is set to conclude with Hollywood Fantasy Orchestrator, due for release 5 October 2023.
