Introducing the FA101 from Edirol…
Edirol’s new FA101 Firewire audio and MIDI interface is a robust, portable half-rack unit which can be powered entirely from the Firewire buss, offering 10 simultaneous inputs and outputs at 24-bit/96kHz.
At 192kHz, the FA101 provides two simultaneous channels of input and output. The unit is equipped with two mic preamps with phantom power and eight balanced TRS jack inputs, optical S/PDIF input and output and MIDI In and Out. It also features a four-segment LED level meter, balanced TRS outputs, a headphone out and an input for the included external power adaptor.
Drivers are provided for both PC (ASIO 2.0 and WDM) and Mac OS X (Core Audio). Input and output routing is software controlled and the FA101 allows direct monitoring of the input signal. It costs £429 and is due to be released in April.
