Excite Audio’s latest release is a described as a dynamic, playable instrument, and offers a versatile range of drum loops, fills and one-shot samples. Bloom Drum Breaks promises to make quick work of finding the perfect drum sounds for any project, and includes a selection of powerful editing, modulation and effects tools.
Once the instrument has been loaded up, users are able to select a sample bank or preset, which will place a set of 14 tempo-sync’ed drum loops over two octaves of their keyboard. There are eight banks to choose from, containing a total of 112 individual drum loops. Pressing white keys will trigger the loops assigned to that key, with the black keys make it possible to apply changes to sample parameters such as playback speed or pitch, as well as trigger custom sequences, apply modulation to the parameters of either the samples or built-in effects processors.
An Edit page makes it possible to manipulate the samples housed in each bank. Start and end points can be adjusted along with playback direction, and there’s also a set of parameters such as pitch, attack, release and some level and panning controls. A Phrase Player serves as a multi-mode sequencer, allowing variations of the loop to be created and assigned to black keys, while yet more customisation is possible thanks to arpeggiator functions such as rate, latching and swing controls. Three effects modules are included: Saturation, Noise and Dynamics, along with dedicated high- and low-pass filters.

Bloom Drum Breaks is supported on PCs running Windows 7 and above, and Macs running macOS 10.15 or higher. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
