The latest addition to Excite Audio’s range promises to transform the way users incorporate vocals into their productions, and make quick work of crafting professional sounding chops. While its predecessor, Bloom Vocal Aether, focused on atmospheric background sounds, Bloom Vocal Edit has been designed to create attention-grabbing elements that take centre stage in a track.
The plug-in combines a vast collection of vocal chops, hooks and one-shot samples, and comes packed with vocal-specific processors that can be used to create distorted voices, EDM-style rhythmic staccatos, experimental glitch effects and much more. Its main view offers quick access to key settings and effects thanks to a set of four macro controls, but the bulk of the power lies in the Edit page.
The page hosts a comprehensive sample editor that combines an intuitive waveform display, speed and playback controls with attack, release, panning and volume controls, as well as pitch and formant parameters and a BPM Warp function. A Phrase Player section follows, which allows users to switch between and trigger multiple processed samples to create longer hook. There’s also a range of built-in effects that include a bitcrusher, reverb and delay that can be applied on a per-phrase basis, along with a global tone control.
Compatibility
Bloom Vocal Edit is supported on PCs running Windows 7 or higher, and Macs running macOS 10.15 and above. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone application.
