HeadRush introduce the VX5

Vocal-focused pedal takes Auto-Tune to the stage

HeadRush VX5 live performance vocal processor Antares Auto-Tune

HeadRush have built up a solid reputation for their line of amp and effects modelling solutions, and two of their devices, Prime and Core, also include a versatile collection of vocal-processing tools, including Antares’ ever-popular Auto-Tune. The latest arrival to the company’s range is aimed purely at vocalists, and offers a compact and cost-effective way to incorporate industry-standard pitch-correction into a live performance.

The company say that they developed the VX5 to allow singers to confidently replicate the sounds of their records when performing live. Thanks to Retune Speed and Humanize controls, the VX5 is capable of dialling in everything from subtle corrections to the hard-tuned, vocoder-style effects that Auto-Tune is so well known for.

Housed in a compact enclosure, the pedal features an onboard mic preamp with switchable 48V phantom power, with a pair of footswitches offering hands-free operation during a performance — there’s also MIDI support via USB, allowing users to trigger preset changes from a computer, mobile device or external controller.
