Hit’n’Mix RipX DAW comes to the iPhone

Innovative DAW software goes mobile

Hit'n'Mix RipX for iPhone AR DAW 3D spatial audio software

Hit’n’Mix have just announced that their innovative DAW software is now available to iPhone users. Said to be far more than a scaled-down version of its desktop counterpart, RipX for iPhone offers a combination of reactive sound, 3D spatial playback and full DAW-style editing in one convenient App.

The new App features an AR Mode that allows users to physically walk through instruments placed in a 3D space and hear them through immersive spatial audio — it’s possible to simple move closer to a vocal, step back to the drums and so on. A React function then transforms movement into sound design, with tilting or turning motions reshaping effects and sounds in real time. Users can record and layer different gestures to create evolving, expressive mixes that respond like a live instrument.

Alongside its interactive features, RipX is also a complete DAW. It comes loaded with professional-grade editing, pitch and timing tools, as well as built-in effects and multitrack mixing capabilities. Its Track Starters provide original, mood-aware loops and songs that serve as starting points for new ideas, and a new music video capture feature allows users to record 3D or reactive performances, including live singing, and share the results instantly.

Hit’n’Mix say that the App’s intuitive interface welcomes everyone from casual listeners to advanced producers, whilst increased accessibility is provided by a Reduce Motion option in the Settings menu.

“RipX blurs the line between listening and creating. It gives anyone the power to step inside sound — to feel and shape music as naturally as they move.” - Martin Dawe, Founder & Developer, Hit’n’Mix

RipX is available now as a free download on the App Store, with the optional Backstage Pass subscription unlocking full creative features.
