Ian Boddy returns with new Analogue Workshop series

Analogue Workshop Volume 1: Distortion & Feedback

Renowned synthesist and sound designer Ian Boddy has returned with the new Analogue Workshop series of sound design tools. Having been producing sample libraries since 1992, some of Ian’s work includes the award-winning collections for leading sample producers Zero-G and Sample Magic, as well as patch and sample content for Camel Audio, LinPlug and Rob Papen.

Distortion & Feedback is the first of series of sound libraries: Ian Boddy Analogue WorkshopWith a wealth of musical and sound design experience, Boddy has decided to release his sample productions independently under the ‘Waveforms’ brand, which has already released four titles - Airwaves, Beatalogue, Drumalogue and Radiophonica. Boddy has produced Distortion & Feedback which will be the first in a new series of ‘Analogue Workshop’ sound libraries.

Each of the 300 samples in this library uses either audio or control voltage distortion, feedback or general sonic ill treatment. A custom designed GUI has been scripted in Native Instruments Kontakt format to provide more variation and better programming options. This is rounded off by a set of impulse responses for the convolution reverb processing, which is taken directly from analogue modules, such as spring reverbs and bucket-brigade delays to further enhance the overall sound character.

There are over 500 Kontakt 4 format patches available, and are grouped into two basic categories, raw and untreated. As the first of a series of Analogue Workshop packs, each volume will focus on one particular aspect of analogue sound design that is possible with modular and vintage synthesizers.

Analogue Workshop Volume 1: Distortion & Feedback is now available to download, exclusively from Time+Space, at a price of £34.95.
