IK Multimedia release Grand Piano Y7

Adds new sounds to the Pianoverse

IK Multimedia Pianoverse Grand Piano Y7

IK Multimedia have released the Grand Piano Y7, a new virtual instrument that joins the Pianoverse collection. This meticulously crafted virtual piano is based on the iconic Yamaha C7, a grand piano originally built in the late 1980s at Yamaha’s Hamamatsu factory in Japan. Renowned for its powerful projection and tonal clarity, the Y7 is versatile enough to suit both concert halls and recording studios.

The Y7 was recorded at the legendary Fonoprint Studios in Bologna, Italy, which is known for its work with artists such as Bocelli and Morricone. The studio’s rich history and acoustic environment provide a unique backdrop for the piano, which is captured in exceptional detail. The recordings used DPA cardioid microphones as close mics, along with Coles ribbon microphones positioned in the Blumlein technique. Three new sound spaces offer even more sonic variety, with users able to select between Northern Lights, Mirrors and White Loft settings.

In addition to the new Grand Piano Y7, Pianoverse now includes nine world-class pianos, offering users a broad selection of instruments to choose from, including the Bösendorfer 214, Steinway Hamburg D-274, and Yamaha CFIII. As part of the update, Pianoverse MAX owners also gain access to the Y7 at no additional cost, while new users can purchase the Grand Piano Y7 separately or as part of the complete Pianoverse MAX bundle.

Price & Availability

The Y7 is available now for $99.99€99.99, and the Pianoverse MAX bundle is on promotion for $99.99€99.99 throughout March (regularly $299.99€299.99), including all nine pianos in the collection.
