TONEX gains Hyde Street Studios amplifier collection

IK Multimedia Hyde Street Amp Locker amp cabinet modelling software

IK Multimedia have announced the launch of the latest add-on for their ever-expanding TONEX platform, this time capturing a collection of 14 rare and sought-after amplifiers at San Francisco’s iconic Hyde Street Studios.

Hyde Street Amp Locker includes an assortment of vintage and modern amps, all recorded by Jaimeson Durr, an engineer who’s list of clients include the likes of Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Chickenfoot, The Dead, Don Felder, Nancy Wilson, The Head and The Heart and many more. Standout vintage models include a 1974 Fender Twin Reverb Silverface with MojoTone MP12s speakers, a Fender Vibrolux, a Fender Champ, an all-original 1966 Fender Super Reverb and a '60s Airline 62-9025A.

Those in search of heavier, high-gain tones will enjoy models of a Marshall MKII Studio reissue, an early MESA Dual Rectifier, a Budda Super Drive 30 Series II and a high-gain Marshall JCM 900. Other offerings that the company say reflect the Bay Area's musical spirit include a Seymour Duncan Convertible, a Milkman 2x10 combo and an abandoned Sears Silvertone 1x8 combo.

All of the Tone Models have been captured using the facility’s collection of high-end gear, including a Neve 8038 console (that was originally installed by none other than Rupert Neve himself) Neve 1084 and CAPI VP28 preamps, API 550a EQs and a whole host of iconic microphones.

"Every amp was meticulously captured using the exact gear and methods we rely on daily, preserving the unique recipes that have helped us carve out our signature sound in the music world. We hope these tones will inspire you as much as they inspire our clients." - Jaimeson Durr

Hyde Street Amp Locker can be used with all versions of IK Multimedia’s TONEX software, including the free TONEX CS and TONEX App. They can also be loaded onto the hardware TONEX Pedal and TONEX ONE units.
