The Institute of Professional Sound (formerly the IBS) is running a training weekend on 4/5 February. Day one focusses on the sound and communications systems to be employed in the Olympics coverage and is essential for anyone hoping to work on this prestigious event.
Day two concentrates on the challenges of recording live music for broadcast and the interdependence between PA, monitor and recording systems. This is a hands-on day with three live bands of various styles performing in three separate areas. Mike Felton, the sound balancer for the BBC's 'Later with Jools' is one of the trainers... as am I!
