Karma Lab launch sound sets for Korg M3 and M50

New Jersey-based sound designers Karma Labs have just released a new set of sounds for Korg’s M3 and M50 workstation keyboards. The new sound set, called Reincarnated, apparently pushes Korg’s KARMA (Kay Algorithmic Real-time Music Architecture) synthesis engine to “the absolute limit”, and comprises 32 Combis that Karma Lab say are suited to a wide variety of styles, including jazz, new age, electronica and techno.

Each Combi is made up of four KARMA modules and eight fully voiced Scenes. Scene parameters have been mapped for real-time control, via eight sliders, eight switches, a joystick, and, for those using the sounds on an M3, the ribbon and XY pad controllers.

One of Reincarnated’s programmers was none other than Stephen Kay, who helped developed the KARMA engine and lends it his first initial, so you can be assured that Korg’s M3 and M50 workstations will be used to their full potential when running these sounds. Priced at $32 (which works out at just $1 per Combi), the Reincarnated sound set can be bought from the Karma Lab web site, below.
