LIMS: 11th to 14th June 2009

Join SOS for the UK’s #1 music show!
Now’s the time to get your diary out and block-book the 11th to the 14th June as ‘busy’. Why? Because you’ll be at the LIMS show at London’s Excel!
This year, as before, Sound On Sound are the proud media sponsors of the Sound Recording Technology (SRT) sector of the show. Joining us, among others, will be our friends at Focusrite, Sound Technology, Alchemea, Shure, Allen & Heath, Olympus, Roland and Sennheiser, with more exhibitors expected to sign up in the next few weeks. They’ll be showing their latest and greatest products on their stands, where visitors can step up and have a play, and this year, there will be a retail element to the show, enabling punters to buy the gear there and then. Expect plenty of bargains, and bring a friend to help you carry your purchases home!
LIMS is a four-part show; alongside SRT is the London Guitar Show, Drummer Live, and Unplugged, which cater for musicians and tech-heads of all shapes and sizes. In each part of the show, there will be specialist exhibitors, and events such as signings, one-off performances and clinics. Also, a number of seminars will be taking place throughout the show, and SOS & Performing Musician will have a prime spot on the show floor where we’ll be hosting a full schedule of events. As this is being written, we’re poring over our seminar schedule — we’ll post the latest news on the Sound On Sound web site as soon as we’ve firmed up all the content.
For the second year running, we’ll be putting together a massive studio giveaway, where one lucky winner will win a studio full of gear. Last year’s winner Dean McCarthy was over the moon with his £20k prize; who wouldn’t be!? Again, we’re still putting the prize together, so keep your eyes peeled on the SOS web site for details. If that’s not enough to entice you, there will be an exclusive Steve Vai masterclass, costing £180, where the guitar legend will deliver personal training to 150 attendees.
Note that Thursday 11th June will be the show’s trade-only and preview day, with the Friday, Saturday and Sunday open to the public. Day tickets cost from £14, and can be purchased through the London International Music Show web site. See you there!
