Live performance software launched

Petertools aim to enhance Reason
Live Set and Hammer are two new PC programs designed for use with Propellerhead Reason designed by Italian developers Petertools.
Described as a real-time MIDI processor, Live Set is designed to make it easier to set up complex MIDI routings for live performance, and provides some pretty involved MIDI effects.
As you can see from the screenshot below, the folks at Petertools are big fans of Reason and Live Set contains a host of Reason-specific control modules.
However, the software can route the processed signal from its two MIDI inputs to any Rewire-compatible software or to a MIDI interface’s output for controlling external hardware.
Live Set is available from Petertools’s on-line shop and costs 99 Euros.

Hammer, which is currently in the beta-testing stage, is a Reason-specific utility which lets the user route ASIO audio inputs into Reason for live processing, a mouth-watering prospect for admirers of Reason’s reverb, vocoder and distortion effects.
It supports either one or two ASIO soundcards and all versions of Reason from 1.0 onwards.
Keep an eye on the Petertools web site for updates on the software’s development — we’ll be watching this one closely.
