The latest version of NUGEN Audio’s popular analysis plug-in has arrived, delivering a set of new features that have been designed to meet the needs of modern productions. MasterCheck 2 is an optimisation plug-in for cross-platform mastering, designed to ensure that your masters sound consistent across all platforms — physical, digital and streaming.
A standout feature of MasterCheck 2 is the introduction of immersive audio support, with the plug-in now capable of operating in channel layouts up to 7.1.4. The move means that those working in formats such as Dolby Atmos now benefit from the same set of analysis tools enjoyed by those working in stereo, allowing them to audition the effect that loudness normalisation and data compression will have on their mixes.
NUGEN Audio say that to reflect the continually expanding streaming ecosystem, the plug-in now includes additional presets that cover a wider range of platforms, enabling users to audition how loudness normalisation and codec processing will impact their material across services such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TIDAL, Bandcamp, SoundCloud and more. The plug-in also features a newly redesigned, resizable GUI, offering both portrait and landscape views that fit seamlessly into any screen display configuration.
