MeldaProduction are kicking off 2026 with a new virtual instrument dedicated to recreating the iconic sound of tine-based electric pianos. The aptly named Electric Keys - Tines has been designed to provide users with a definitive collection of classic sounds, and promises to deliver the bell-like tones and gritty bark that defined a generation of R&B, funk and classic rock tracks.
Rather than capturing a single instrument, the latest release has been built on four distinct, deeply sampled historic models of Rhodes pianos: the MK I, MK II 73, MK II 88 and MK V. MeldaProduction say that they have captured every nuance of each model, along with the likes of pedal noises, resulting in an authentic-sounding recreation of the highly sought-after instruments.
Key Features
- Four Historic Models: Instant access to the holy grail of electric piano history, from the raw bark of the 73 to the crystal clarity of the MK V.
- Deep Character Control: Users can sculpt the timbre using the Character section, shifting Hammer hardness from a soft lullaby to an aggressive bite, and dialling in physical behaviour with the Noise section.
- Modular FX Rack: Features a fully modular effects rack with eight processors, including Vibrato, Tremolo, Wah-Wah, Rotary and more. Users can drag and drop modules to reorder the signal chain.
- Global Efficiency: Manage polyphony to optimise CPU usage and fine-tune velocity ranges to match specific playing styles.
Compatibility
Electric Keys - Tines runs in MeldaProductions’ MSoundFactory or MSoundFactoryLE, which are supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and higher. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Electric Keys - Tines is available now, and is free to existing MSoundFactory or MSoundFactoryLE users. Those without the full bundle can currently (5 January 2026) purchase it at an introductory price of €9, reduced from its full cost of €69.
