With this year’s MIDI Innovation Awards drawing to a close, The MIDI Association have announced an upcoming live stream which will showcase the entries of all 15 finalists as well as announcing the five winners chosen by the jury.
The live stream will be taking place on 16 September 2023 at 5pm BST10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern, hosted by composer and UX designer Martin Keary (aka Tantacrul) and British musician, synth maker and creator of the ‘Look Mum No Computer’ YouTube channel, Sam Battle.
The show, which will be broadcast from Tileyard X Studios in London, will highlight each finalist’s innovative use of MIDI, as well as featuring interviews with an all-star panel of judges that includes Michele Darling, Assistant Chair of Electronic Production and Design at Berklee College of Music; Pedro Eustache, Venezuelan-born electronic woodwind soloist and composer; Jean-Michel Jarre, French composer and electronic music pioneer; Roger Linn, American engineer, musician and inventor; Bian Liunian, musical director of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Closing Ceremony and Nina Richards, electronic musician and synth hardware designer.
