Acon Digital have announced the release of a new plug-in which is capable of carrying out real-time separation of instrument groups in a full mix. The result of a collaboration with machine learning and DSP experts HANCE, Remix is able to instantly split complete mixes into five distinct stems: vocals, piano, bass, drums and other.
Each stem is assigned to its own channel within the plug-in, providing users with gain, mute and solo controls along with a level meter for each indivdual element. This makes it possible to adjust the balance of a mixed audio track without requiring access to the original multitracks, or even to remove elements entirely to create new versions of the track.
All of the channels feature a sensitivity control which allows users to fine-tune the processing and find the optimal balance between artefacts and spill. All of the parameters can be automated, and the plug-in also allows channels to be routed to separate outputs in order to apply different processing to each element using additional DAW tracks.
Compatibility
Remix is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11, and Macs running macOS 10.13 and higher. It is available in VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in formats.
Pricing & Availability
Remix is available now, priced at $49.90. Those who own licenses of the company’s Acoustica Premium Edition 7.x editing will receive a free licence in their Acon Digital user accounts.
