The dog ate my Macbook, Sir!
London-based audio engineering school Alchemea have announced that, from January 2009, newly enrolled full-time diploma students will be equipped with a mobile recording studio, as part of their course ‘media packs’.
The bundle of equipment comprises an Apple Macbook, Digidesign’s M Box 2 Mini with Pro Tools LE, a Rode M3 microphone with stand, cable and pop shield, and an M-Audio MIDI controller keyboard. “We are giving all students the opportunity to record and produce on the move”, says Mike Sinnott, Alchemea Director.
After they’ve completed the course, students are allowed to keep their goodies, meaning they’re equipped to start freelance work straight after graduation, if they wish to do so.
