Modartt may well be best known for their Pianoteq series, but their physical modelling expertise has also been put to work emulating a range of pipe organs, too. They’ve recently announced the release of Organteq 2.1, which introduces a selection of new features and improvements that they say provide users with greater versatility, a richer sound palette and a more seamless creative experience.
The latest version of the instrument includes models of 14 new organs that range from early Baroque to contemporary models, offering a broader selection of sounds and styles. The stop library has also been kitted out with seven new stops including a full set of Romantic Principals, while the French Romantic presets have been carefully re-voiced with the aim of delivering a more authentic sound. The company say that the improvements allow organists to further refine and personalise their virtual organ’s tonal qualities, and offer more creative possibilities than ever before.
In addition to the new models and stops, a new tagging feature has been introduced to Organteq 2’s built-in browser. Presets are now furnished with a selection of built-in tags designed to help users find the perfect sound for their musical ideas, and it’s possible to customise them and add custom user tags to further enhance the instrument’s preset management.
