Following on from the highly rated RNDI active direct box, Rupert Neve Designs have introduced a new dual-channel model, the RNDI-S. This stereo DI promises the same vibrant tone and high headroom as the single-channel version, thanks to the same custom-designed transformers and discrete FET amplifiers. The RNDI-S features the same powder-coated steel chassis as the original RNDI, only double the width, so it should be every bit as rugged too.
This phantom-powered unit provides a pair of quarter-inch jack inputs (with corresponding thru outputs) to accept mono sources as well as a convenient stereo mini jack input, making it easy to plug in tablets, laptops and other consumer devices, small synths and more. The RNDI-S is set to start shipping at the end of January 2018, with a street price of $499.
