Native Instruments Molekular modular multi-effects systemMolekular is a new Reaktor-based modular multi-effects system from Native Instruments. Conceived and realised in cooperation with Zynaptiq, Molekular provides 35 signal processor modules including pitch and resonator devices, distortion and dynamic processors, delays, stutters, modulation, filters and reverbs.
There are then 16 modulation sources that can be very easily assigned to any parameter within the effects system. Among the modulators are four customisable LFOs, four step sequencers, a ‘trigger sequencer’ module with a dedicated envelope follower and a Logic module that offers a range of more complicated modulation types.
The routing within Molekular is totally flexible, with various parallel and serial signal chains available.
Perhaps the most visually striking element of Molekular is the central ‘Morphing Field’ that allows the user to define a starting point and four mutations and easily morph between them. Morphing can even be controlled by the modulation sources for unusual, evolving sounds.
Molekular is available now from the Native Instruments website and costs $149£129.
