Camel Space and Camel Phat 3 are out now
Camel Audio describe their new Camel Space plug-in as a ‘rhythmic multi-effect’ and we’re at a loss to come up with a better description!
It consists of a range of simultaneous effects — reverb, delay, enhancer, flanger, auto-panner and multi-mode filter — that add up to more than the sum of their parts thanks to Camel Space’s ‘trance gate’, a 128-step sequencer which controls panning, filter cutoff and volume.
Combine this with two additional independent LFOs, and the plug-in can quickly transform pads, synth lines and drum loops into dynamically evolving rhythmic textures. Camel Space also features an X-Y mod matrix, an intelligent randomise function and 128 presets.
Version 3 of the popular Camel Phat plug-in has a new look, new effects and new controls. Designed to add warmth, punch and presence to all kinds of material, but primarily drums, bass and guitar, Camel Phat 3 features four distortion effects, ranging from gentle warmth to full-on crunch, which can be used individually or blended together.
The new version retains the unique Magic EQ section — a highly effective low-end enhancer — as well as the compressor, flanger and band-pass filter. Camel Phat 3 also features a multi-mode filter, two LFOs, an envelope follower, an X-Y mod matrix, an intelligent randomise function and 128 presets.
Camel Space and Camel Phat 3 are compatible with Windows ME, 2000 and XP and Mac OS X, operating as VST plug-ins under Windows and as VST or Audio Units plug-ins under Mac OS X. They cost £45 each or £79 for the pair direct from the Camel Audio web site, where you can also find audio examples of the plug-ins in use and download demo versions to try out for yourself.
