Butch Vig is renowned for producing some of the best rock music of the '90s, having worked with such legendary acts as Green Day, Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana (most notably on grunge classic Nevermind). Now he's teamed up with Native Instruments to produce a Kontakt drum instrument that promises “hard-hitting drums, grooves and effects presets”.
Butch Vig Drums (the first in a new artist-created Play Series from NI) was recorded at Vig's own studio, and includes 21 different drum kits, each contributing 16 one-shot samples. Each kit also comes with 16 MIDI pattern presets, which can be used off the peg or drag-and-dropped into your DAW for detailed editing.
