Native Instruments’ Scene series includes a range of instruments designed to provide media composers with an array of premium cinematic sounds in a simple and intuitive interface. The latest addition to the range has just arrived, and this time, the focus is on horror soundtracks.
Scene: Nightshade comes packed with deep strings, haunting vocal pads, eerie plucks and ominous synth textures that promise to provide composers with everything from “creeping tension” to “overwhelming dread”. As with its siblings, the instrument centres around an X-Y pad interface that allows users to blend seamlessly between sample layers to create continually evolving soundscapes. There are 16 sound sources to choose from, and there are plenty of modulation and processing possibilities thanks to a set of macro controls and built-in effects. The instrument also boasts polyphonic aftertouch support, which allows for expressive real-time control over a whole host of parameters.
